Itinerary Overview
Marigot
The principal town and capital of French St. Martin, Marigot is an appealing spot with brightly colored houses, a scattering of restaurants and lively produce and crafts markets. It's a great base for exploring St. Martin's secluded beaches (many clothing optional) and its more vibrant, family-popular ones. Marigot is within easy reach of the famed restaurants at nearby Grand Case, said to have the Caribbean's best dining. Kept temperate by trade winds, Marigot stays warm and sunny year-round.
Anguilla
Fringed by shimmering white-sand beaches shaded by coconut palms and sea-grape trees, and filled with colorfully painted, open-sided beach bars serving sizzling barbecues, feisty rum punches and live reggae tunes, Anguilla is the Caribbean dream come true.
Virgin Gorda
The half-mountainous, half-flat British Virgin Island is the home of the Baths, an intriguing, inexplicable group of gargantuan granite boulders spread across utter white palm-lined beaches. Tides turn caves into baths, and back again, creating a maze of crevices and pools.
Norman Island
Norman Island is an island at the southern tip of the British Virgin Islands archipelago. It is one of a number of islands reputed to be the inspiration for Robert Louis Stevenson's pirate novel Treasure Island.
Anegada
Anegada is one of the British Virgin Islands, part of a volcanic archipelago in the Caribbean Sea. A low-lying coral island, it's known for secluded beaches like Loblolly Bay and Cow Wreck Beach. Waterside restaurants feature Anegada lobster. The island is home to flamingos, rock iguanas and rare plant species like sea lavender. Offshore, Horseshoe Reef is rich in marine life and dotted with shipwrecks.
Bonaire
It's always sunny in Bonaire, where the days last nearly twelve hours and the adventure never ends. The countless coral reefs surrounding its shores are home to more than 400 species of marine life, earning it the nickname ?Diver's Paradise.' But for some of the best snorkeling, head to the islet of Klein Bonaire. Or hop on a glass-bottomed gondola for prime undersea views? no swimming required. Cruise to Bonaire and do some onshore exploring at Washington Slagbaii National Park, which covers a fifth of the island. With its dramatic desert landscape, mangrove lagoons, famous pink flamingos and unrivaled dive spots, Bonaire offers endless outdoor adventures? along with a healthy dose of colonial charm.
Gustavia
Red roofed buildings speckle the lush tropical landscape in Gustavia, St. Bart's tiny, relaxed Caribbean capital whose historic sites can be reached in one day of trekking around town. 17th century forts line the harbor, from Fort Karl in the north to Fort Gustaf with its lighthouse and cannons in the south
