Itinerary Overview

Day 1
Barcelona

The capital of Catalonia boasts the bustle of the world's busiest seaport, the medieval romance of its Gothic Quarter, and a feast of Catalan Art Nouveau buildings - including the great creations of Antonio Gaudí. The "Great Enchantress" remains one of the most exhilarating cities in Europe, decorated with the grandeur of Picasso, Miró and Dalí.

Day 2
Palma de Mallorca

The city of Palma is located on the southern side of Mallorca, the largest the Spanish Balearic islands. Though it has its fair share of cultural attractions, Mallorca's predominant crowd-pullers are the Serra de Tramuntana mountains range and the sun-splashed beaches.

Day 3
Mahon Minorca

The capital of the Spanish island of Menorca is best known for traditional Georgian buildings of its hilly old quarter and the mysterious 2,000-year old monoliths. It is also noted for inventing mayonnaise and gin, and for producing Spain's second most popular cheese.

Day 4
Bonifacio

This scenic French village is defined by its white limestone cliffs and the multistory buildings that perch precariously atop them. The narrow streets, flying buttresses, and tall, narrow stone houses of the old city within the Citadel give it a medieval ambiance.

Day 5
Alghero Sardinia

one of the most beautiful and interesting destinations on the island, it still preserves its distinct medieval charm, with the famous strong city walls, the stunning heritage of the historical center, the charming beaches and seascapes nearby or its special Catalan legacy.

Day 6
Cagliari

Cagliari, the capital of the Italian island of Sardinia, is situated high upon hills that offer a panoramic view of the Golfo degli Angeli ? the Gulf of Angels. Walk along Poetto beach, with its soft sand and clear water, or visit the urban park of Molentargius with its flamingos, wetlands and magnificent birds. Cruise to Sardinia, Italy to peruse the local architectural sites: See Bastione di Saint Remy with its breathtaking terrace and Torre dellElefante, a medieval tower with a 360-degree view of the city. And dont forget to take a meditative stroll through the lavish interior of the 13th-century Cagliari Cathedral.

Day 7
Palermo

War-torn Palermo was neglected for centuries after WWII, which ironically led to the preservation of the city's historic buildings and bombsites. Though it was once regarded as Europe's most beautiful city, the fanciful decay of Palermo is now what draws visitors.

Day 8
Valletta, Malta

In 1530 Malta was given to the Knights Hospitallers, who built a Christian stronghold and the capital, Valletta, behind whose fortifications youll find Renaissance splendors that seem to be untouched by time.
