Borneo & Singapore Tour Itinerary:

Day 1 (11FEB24): Arrive in Kota Kinabalu

On arrival into Kota Kinabalu airport, you will be met by an English-speaking assistant and transferred to your hotel for check-in.

Day 2: Kota Kinabalu

This morning, transfer approximately 3 hours to Poring Hot Spring, stopping en-route at Nabalu village to taste the local fruits and shop for local handicrafts. Observe the wildlife on the canopy walkway and take a dip in one of the soothing, hot mineral springs set in the beautifully landscaped gardens. Afterwards, proceed to the World Heritage site of Kinabalu National Park to explore the mountain gardens with your guide, home to many species of orchids, pitcher plants, birds, insects and butterflies. Return to Kota Kinabalu in the late afternoon. This evening, transfer to a local restaurant to enjoy traditional Malay dishes.

Day 3: Kota Kinabalu

Today enjoy a full-day tour of Kota Kinabalu. Begin by visiting Yayasan Sabah (Sabah Foundation) building, one of the few buildings in the world to utilize a single column structure. Next, head to Phu Thou Se Chinese Temple, the Sabah State Mosque and the Sabah Museum, home to fine exhibits that chronicle Sabah's fascinating historical past and rich cultural heritage. Later, return to your hotel for an evening at leisure.

Day 4: Kota Kinabalu – Sandakan – Sepilok – Kinabatangan River – Abai

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Sandakan (flight included). On arrival, head to the Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary where captive orangutans are reintroduced into the wild. You will be able to observe them at their feeding stations in the rainforest and at the nursery (if open). Next, proceed to the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre (BSBCC). This centre rescues captured sun bears and is involved in sun bear conservation, welfare rehabilitation and education. Over 30 sun bears live at the centre in the bear house and outdoor enclosures.

Afterwards, depart Sepilok and proceed to the boat jetty in Sandakan. You will then enjoy an hour boat cruise up the Lower Kinabatangan River, passing pristine mangrove forests and searching for wildlife. Arrive at Abai Jungle Lodge and have lunch. Enjoy some free time before embarking on another cruise in search of proboscis monkeys, birds, reptiles and other wildlife. Return to the lodge for dinner. After dinner, go on a guided night walk around the Lodge’s nature boardwalk and search for insects, birds and other wildlife.

Day 5: Pitas Lake – Abai Village – Sukau – Menanggul River

Early this morning, embark on another boat trip for bird watching and wildlife viewing at the nearby Pitas Lake before returning to the lodge for breakfast. Later this morning, visit nearby Abai village and enjoy a local-style lunch prepared and served by the villagers. Next, transfer to Sukau and check-in to your lodge on arrival. Later this afternoon, embark on a river cruise up Kinabatangan River to Menanggul River in search of proboscis monkeys, birds and other wildlife before returning to the lodge in time for dinner this evening.

Day 6: Kinabatangan River

Early this morning, experience a river cruise on the longest river of Sabah, observing the wildlife. Afterwards, enjoy a late breakfast back at the lodge before departing the lodge for the Gomantong Caves. Explore this fascinating cave, home to millions of swiftlets and bats followed by a second chance to spot for wildlife with another river cruise. This evening, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant before watching a video show.

Day 7: Sukau – Sandakan – Kota Kinabalu

After an early breakfast this morning, depart the lodge and drive to Sandakan. On arrival, enjoy lunch before transferring to the airport for your flight back to Kota Kinabalu (flight included). On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check-in.

Day 8 (18FEB24): Kota Kinabalu - Singapore

After breakfast and check-out this morning, you will be met by an English-speaking assistant and transferred to the airport for your flight to Singapore (flight not included). On arrival into Singapore airport, you will be met by an English-speaking assistant and transferred to your hotel for check-in.

Day 9: Singapore

This afternoon, you will enjoy Afternoon Tea at Raffles. Reminiscent of extravagant parties that were once held in The Grand Lobby, the Raffles Afternoon Tea is the perfect opportunity to savour finger sandwiches, housemade scones and cakes, and seasonal delicacies – all complemented by a curated collection of exquisite teas and Champagnes.
