Itinerary:

DAY 1: FRIDAY – WELCOME TO ULURU

Welcome to Uluṟu – the spiritual heart of Australia.  You’ll be met on arrival at Ayers Rock Airport and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure to relax poolside or participate in one of the complimentary resort activities.

Get to know your fellow travellers and tour leader over a drink in the Walpa Lobby Bar, before tonight’s exclusive welcome dinner. Tali Wiṟu, meaning ‘beautiful dune’ in local Anangu language, encapsulates the magic of fine dining under the Southern Desert sky. The stillness of the desert at night creates a unique ambience, while views of Uluṟu and the distant domes of Kata Tjuta provide a stunning backdrop to the world-class gastronomic adventure that awaits.  Sip champagne and nibble on canapes as you watch a spectacular sunset to the haunting sounds of a didgeridoo performance.

Every course of this exclusive four-course dinner is infused with ancient native herbs and spices, constructed to respect, and put a spotlight on the quality and attributes of each ingredient, bringing them together in harmony. Enjoy premium Australian wines while an indigenous storyteller shares the culture, history and spirituality of this beautiful land. This is so much more than a dining experience; it’s a moment in time you will remember forever.

Overnight: Sails in the Desert

DAY 2: SATURDAY – ULURU HIGHLIGHTS AND SACRED SITES FLIGHT

It will be worth the early wake-up call this morning, to experience the tranquillity of the pre-dawn outback and watch the stunning metamorphosis of colour as the desert slowly comes alive. As you travel towards Uluṟu, its vast shape rises from the sand dunes in the early dawn light highlighting its presence in this country. Be guided to a special location to watch the sun rise over this amazing monolith and enjoy an outback picnic breakfast. Once the sun is up, visit Mutitjulu Waterhole on the Kuniya Walk and learn the Creation stories of Liru (poisonous snake) and Kuniya (python). After this short walk, drive around the base of Uluṟu and hear the story of the Mala people.

Next, head to the Uluṟu Cultural Centre for a private dot painting workshop with a local Anangu artist. During this special experience, you will learn about traditional art, symbols, and tools as the artist shares their culture with you to gain a better understanding of Aboriginal paintings. Be inspired by the ancient ways of the desert and create your very own work of art to treasure.

This afternoon, get ready for the ultimate adventure and experience the true majesty of Uluru and Kata Tjuta from the air. Fly by Uluru and across to the spectacular domes of Kata Tjuta for a view that will leave you speechless. So much of these sacred sites is off-limits from the ground, so the only way to truly appreciate the vast size and amazing landscape is from the air. Your flight path will take you by Uluru and Kata Tjuta allowing you to capture amazing images and leave you with memories to last a lifetime.

Late afternoon, be whisked away to a dune top location and sip delicious cocktails, while watching the changing colours of Uluru and Kata Tjuta as the sun slowly sinks below the horizon. Take your seat in the open-air desert theatre and embark on a culinary adventure with a gourmet dinner hamper. Prepare to be amazed as Wintjiri Wiru, Uluru’s breathtaking new light and sound show, brings to life the ancient Mala story of the Anangu people. Watch in awe as the night sky comes alive with choreographed drones, lasers and projections taking flight to light up the night sky. With the heart of Australia as the backdrop, you will feel a powerful connection to the country, as a story passed on for thousands of generations, now passes to you.

Overnight: Sails in the Desert

DAY 3: SUNDAY – KATA TJUṮA & A NIGHT AT FIELD OF LIGHT

An early start this morning to experience the magnificence of a Kata Tjuta sunrise. On arrival at the viewing area, walk to the best vantage point to see the 36 domes that comprise this spiritual place, watching as the sun’s morning glow brings the desert to life. The tour then heads to the western side of Kata Tjuta where you’ll enjoy an outback picnic breakfast. Approaching the entrance to Walpa Gorge, named for the wind that whistles between the massive domes that shape Kata Tjuta, your guide will share the significance of this men’s sacred ceremonial site. Take a stroll between the mighty conglomerate rock walls and learn how the environment and geology have evolved over millions of years.

Return to the hotel with time to freshen up before enjoying lunch at Mangata Bistro and Bar. This afternoon is free to relax poolside or join one of the many activities offered at the resort. We recommend visiting the Gallery of Central Australia, featuring around 80 works of Indigenous art. Or perhaps join a didgeridoo workshop, learn about Australian and local bush tucker, listen to stories of Aboriginal culture and tradition, or visit Australia’s largest camel farm.

Late this afternoon, transfer to a remote desert location to enjoy gourmet canapes and chilled sparkling wine, as you take in one final breathtaking Uluru sunset. As darkness falls, watch in awe from the top of your private dune as a fantasy garden, featuring 50,000 spindles of light, gently comes to life. Take in the mesmerising beauty as the light stems breathe and sway, creating a blanket of colour as far as the eye can see. Then join your fellow travellers for an exceptional three-course menu infused with bush tucker flavours. As the night ignites with countless stars, settle back and listen to the resident star talker decode the southern night sky. After dinner, immerse yourself in the stunning art installation, Field of Light, its pathways glistening softly with rhythms of coloured light, beckoning you to explore at your own pace. This will be a truly magical evening.
