Itinerary highlights:

Commence your journey in Istanbul, a city where East meets West. A must-see is the Hagia Sophia, which showcases Byzantine and Ottoman design influences. Once a church, then a mosque, it is now a museum. Conveniently across from the Hagia Sophia is the Blue Mosque, known for its exquisite blue tiles and large dome. Wander through the bustling Grand Bazaar, a labyrinthine marketplace that is one of the world’s oldest covered markets.

Sailing on to Canakkale, enter the world of Homer’s epic tales with a visit to the archaeological site of Troy. Explore the ancient city's ruins, including the famous wooden horse. Under the Mediterranean skies, enjoy any of the natural parks surrounding the port. Or take a poignant tour, exploring the WWI trenches and battlefields and pay silent tribute to fallen soldiers at the memorials in their honor

Kavala is a gem of a port, with colorful homes built into the side of the hill and an aqueduct running through the city. Here you can visit the ancient Philippi archaeological park, where the ruins of a Roman theater and an early Christian basilica await exploration. And it’s always such a treat to come across Ottoman-era buildings alongside traditional Greek architecture in this village.

Bonus! We’ve arranged for a later departure time so you get a deeper look at Greece's second-largest city, Thessaloniki. Visit the emblematic White Tower and explore the archaeological museum, showcasing artifacts from the ancient Macedonian era. An interesting architectural and historical building to visit is the Rotunda, a circular building, originally meant as a mausoleum and later converted into a church.

Volos is one of the coastal cities closely connected to Greek mythology. Explore the archaeological site of Dimini, an ancient settlement dating back to the Neolithic period. Nearby is the village of Makrinitsa, where visitors love to ease into the simplicity of traditional architecture and views of Mount Pelion.

Dock at the cosmopolitan island of Mykonos, known for its vibrant nightlife and pristine beaches. Discover the archaeological site of Delos, an ancient sacred island, where you can explore the ruins of temples, houses, and statues. The windmills on the hilltops will draw your attention and you’ll want to visit for wonderful views. If possible, take a moment to enjoy the lively atmosphere of the waterfront cafes and boutiques.

Wel'll continue on to the island of Santorini, renowned for its postcard perfect caldera views. Visit the ancient site of Akrotiri, a Minoan Bronze Age settlement frozen in time by volcanic ash. Take in the breathtaking panoramas from Oia, known for its whitewashed buildings and saturated sunsets. Indulge in the local cuisine and savor the renowned Santorinian wines. We’ve arranged for a later departure from Santorini so you can relax and enjoy the renowned sunsets.

Sailing south through the Sea of Crete, we stop at Heraklion port on the largest Greek island. On Crete, you won’t want to miss the red columns contrasting with the blue skies of Knossos Palace. The vivid murals of bull-leaping, marine animals, dancers, and musicians gives you a hint of the richness of the sea life of the pre-Greek Minoan civilization. You’ll see more about life on Crete in the Heraklion Archaeological Museum, including the famous Phaistos Disc.

Returning back to the mainland, your last stop is in Nafplion, a quaint town nestled on the Peloponnese Peninsula. The archaeological site of Mycenae, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the center of the Mycenaean civilization, is home to the legendary Lion Gate and the tomb of none other than Agamemnon. A climb up to Palamidi Fortress, perched high on a hill, rewards you with your last, beautiful sea view of Greece.
